Background of the Study
Televised political debates have become a prominent feature of electoral campaigns, offering candidates the opportunity to present their policies, defend their positions, and engage directly with one another in front of a broad audience (Aliyu & Umar, 2023). In Tarauni LGA, Kano State, political debates have gained popularity, particularly during the build-up to elections, with the media playing a crucial role in broadcasting these debates to a wider electorate (Kamilu & Ismail, 2024).
